Lahla-Hadiya Castro Appointed to the Board of Directors for The Lyfe Magazine

January 1, 2021 (White Plains, Maryland)

The Lyfe Magazine is proud to announce the appointment of Lahla-Hadiya Castro to its Board of Directors. The Lyfe Magazine featured Lahla on the February 2017 cover. She brings a strong business acumen and knowledge of music to our brand. “We believe adding Lahla to our board will help lift our brand to another level. Her wealth of experience with her company, J-Lah Productions coupled with her extensive musical background will provide The Lyfe Magazine stability in the area of music that we haven’t had in the past,” said Tina M. Scotland, Chief Operating Officer of The Lyfe Magazine.

Gerald C. Anderson, Sr. handpicked Lahla for consideration to the board. The two have collaborated on prior projects in the past. Specifically, Lahla along with her husband Johnnie Castro provided the music support for the film Standing Firm that helped the film attain nearly half a million views on YouTube. Gerald and Lahla teamed up to write the hit song for the film, Let it Raine.

“From the day I met Lahla-Hadiya and her wonderful family, I knew our professional relationship would go past the movie. The Castro family is a blessing to me and The Lyfe Magazine,” said Gerald.

Lahla is also a skilled writer and will add a millennium flavor to the magazine. Gerald said, “Renata M. Smith already helps us with our 30 something audience; now Lahla will add to that with her music review articles.” Lahla has already written articles in the Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 issues for The Lyfe Magazine, and now with her selection to the Board of Directors we expect tons more for this talented musical queen.
