Mother’s are Precious and Priceless

Mother’s are Precious and Priceless

Proverbs 31:10 “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.”

Significant Days in May

The month of May is very significant for many reasons. May is known for the beautiful flowers that blossom following the fresh April showers. Important facts about the month of May that are certainly worth remembering are: The Armed Forces Day which is celebrated the third Saturday in May and that’s when the United States honors the men and women of the military services.

Then there is Memorial Day, which is a federal holiday in the United States; it is observed on the last Monday of May and at that time we remember the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces.

And, let’s not forget May 5th, the day when Mexican Americans celebrate what they call Cinco De Mayo, which is the anniversary of the Mexican victory over the French at Puebla in 1862. It is a national holiday in Mexico.

Mother’s Day

Then, in 1908 the very first Mother’s Day was observed. Mother’s Day was designated by Presidential proclamation, and was recognized officially by Congress and the President in 1914. It is celebrated in honor of Mothers on the second Sunday of May, and on this day the world takes time out to honor Mother’s from all over the world.

Mother’s are Precious and Priceless

Mothers are PRECIOUS and they are PRICELESS! Let us pause to reflect on the gift of a Mother (especially a godly Mother). If your Mother has gone home to be with The Lord, thank God for the years you were blessed to be together!

Think about the fond memories and all the good times that were shared! If you’re blessed to still have your Mother, never let a day go by without taking the time to tell her, as well as show her that you love her and that you care!

If you are a Mother, a Grandmother, or even a Godmother…oh what joy! And, yes there are Sisters, Aunts, Nieces, and Cousins who may have had to step into the role of a Mother and for that, thank God for entrusting you with such an awesome responsibility of nurturing and pouring into the lives of one of God’s most precious gifts!

Let us remember, love, cherish, and honor Mother’s each and every day of the year!
