LeAndrea L.A. Owens, Taking Style to Another Level

LeAndrea “L.A.” Owens, Taking Style to Another Level

I was impressed from the moment I met Mrs. LeAndrea Rivers Owens. Her dedication to her craft and determination to press forward with her work is simply amazing. Let’s keep in mind women are the fastest growing demographic of entrepreneurs in the U.S., running about 2.4 to 2.7 million businesses with an estimated $386.6 billion in revenues) (Dure, 2021). Entrepreneurs create jobs in their local communities and pursue their dreams. Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit.

The Multi-Talented LeAndrea

LeAndrea River Owens; author, mother, wife, grandmother, and friend; a true triumphant spirit to be reckoned with. Her boutique, Shop LA Owens, is on the fast track to success. LeAndrea is a Southern woman and native Floridian who grew up on the West coast of Florida in the beautiful city of St. Petersburg. LeAndrea has her hands in various projects but her first love is and will continue to be “writing.” If you haven’t been emerged into the pages of her novels, “The Most Loved” or “A Rear Class,” then you should. These are must reads. She also has plans on a sequel to “The Most Loved.”

LeAndrea Struggled As An Entrepreneur

LeAndrea continues to state how she struggled as a new entrepreneur, going through the trials and tribulations of building a successful business. She says life has its way of inviting itself into your life without warning. Going through her first divorce, losing her father, health issues, and building a business; I think we all can agree that’s a heavy weight; but she still persevered and believes this  is why it’s important to ask for help. With her asking and being open and honest with her family and friends and showing her authenticity and vulnerability; LeAndrea received financial help from a friend. Thereafter, she created L.A. Owens Fashion and started regaining her independence. She gives God all the glory in her success, healing and allowing her to reclaim her health.

L.A. Owens

Creating L.A. Owens Fashion was her first successful baby. She started with clothing. She loved online shopping because it became the thing to do. LeAndrea loved ordering unique clothing from catalogs to wear to work, church, restaurants, etc. LeAndrea wanted to have her own unique style. Ordering from catalogs gave her a distinct style from others in the area. She created an extension of her fashion and now started her second baby, L.A. Owens “Luxury Skin Care” for men and women.

LeAndrea Recognized a Need

LeAndrea noticed throughout her building people were not familiar with self-care and didn’t understand that self-care is the ultimate luxury and experience. When the pandemic hit, LeAndrea needed to maintain her clientele, so she asked herself, “What do people do in this circumstance? What’s going to bring them comfort? What’s going to make them feel good about themselves? What can I incorporate into my routine?” The answer came quickly.

She incorporated candles, room sprays, soap collections, etc. into her line of products. LeAndrea said, “These additional products are about peace and tranquility. They are designed to bring in that Zen feeling to my clients to help them with their mental state of mind.” Fast forward, with the continual thought of “How can I recommence my client’s peace and tranquility. LeAndrea, therefore, invested her energy and time in her luxury care boutique. Her boutique consists of candles, room fragrances, body butters, etc. Because of the importance of self-care, LeAndrea completed an extensive amount of research on her self-care products. She stated, “Caring for people and the quality of her self-care products sustained her business through difficult times.”

The Future of LeAndrea L.A. Owens

L.A.’s boutique contains everything from clothing for women, clothing for curved sized women, home décor items like candles, diffusers, room sprays, women and men eyewear, to essential oils that are available for both men and women.

When asked where she sees herself in five years, L.A. answered, “I definitely see myself in a brick-and-mortar storefront somewhere. I would love to be in downtown St. Petersburg. In working toward that, I have been exposing myself and my boutique to more people from all walks of life through social events and media.

LeAndrea says she knows her boutique is unique, and it’s something that people in all walks of life can appreciate. She can see the growth in her business. L.A. believes her dreams will come to fruition within the next five years. When asked what advice would you give to young ladies, she answered, “I would advise them to have a plan before they get to high school. I would encourage them to find their passion, find their gifts early in life and most of all, believe in themselves. Don’t give up on yourself, even if people try to discourage you K

eep going. The only failure is to never try!”
