Just when you thought you had everything under control, your whole world comes crashing down and you wonder how you will make it through the day.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
In the novel, Survival by Faith, Shawn-Ta Sterns Wilson, declares the year 2013 as the worst time in her life. Wilson takes her readers by the hand and leads them into her heart and soul as she experiences major upsets and disappointments one after another. She opens her heart, giving detailed descriptions of her journey through life’s ups and downs and how she managed to overcome.
Have you ever prayed for something and it came true? Did you truly believe that God was going to give you what you asked for? In Survival by Faith, Wilson explores these questions.
It was January 2013, Wilson claimed that this year was going to be her best year ever! As the days began
In the beginning of her novel, Wilson states that the year 2013 was the worst year of her life and as the reader continues this journey with the author it becomes crystal clear that life does not get any better for her. Her dark days only intensify in strength.
As the month’s seemed to slowly pass, the more unfavorable situations began to knock on her door. She thought, ”What’s going on?” Looking deep into her heart, I imagine that she also must have thought, why am I experiencing emotional, mental and physical pain one after another? When will it end? Lord, you said in your word that I am healed by your stripes. You did that just for me the day you hung on the cross and died for my sins… God, what is going on?
As the story continues to unravel she lets the reader in on a secret. Faith, just have Faith! Wilson never imagined the turmoil and pain she would endure in 2013 would have her clinging to the hem of His garment, and exercising the old saying, “As long as you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move mountains.”
The only way Wilson survived was by faith.
Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (KJV)
