As Fashion Week comes to an end and we prepare for the holiday season — there was nothing short of black liner, vampy dark lips, and sparkly, glittery eyes on the runway. Fall is a season of transition and renewal so why not renew some classic holiday beauty looks with these pro tips:
With all the buzz over Alicia Keys’ “no makeup, makeup” look – health, dewy, natural skin is still the latest beauty trend. You can achieve this look by starting with a clean, moisturized face. Apply your favorite dewy finish foundation (only in areas where needed) and blend out with a flat kabuki brush to give an airbrushed finish. You can also use a dampened beauty blender. Finally, add a highlight on the high-points of the cheeks to the complete the look.
Smokey eyes have always been a holiday favorite. Shake things up this year by adding a touch of metallic. Just as scarves, shoes, and jewels are accessories to any wardrobe – accessorize your eyes with a little sparkle! To achieve this look start with a black eye shadow on the lid and blend out with a fluffy dome brush. Add a nude/taupe/brown (depending on your skin tone) eye shadow into the crease and blend some more. This will be your transition color. Finish by adding a touch of any gel sparkly glitter to the base of the lid. Don’t stop at silver and gold. Make your eyes Merry and Bright with pink, navy or green! The sky’s the limit!
The classic red lip has met its alter ego this holiday season. The hottest trend in lip color straight from the runways of fashion week is dark and vampy. Dawn you pout with hues of rich plum, deep wine, mahogany and even black. You could really get creative and mix both light and dark hues to create an ombre effect that is sure to be the talk of your next holiday party.
